Robert ‘Bob’ Schober

After 40 years of working at Career Opportunity Development, Inc., Bob Schober has decided to retire. 

We'd like to thank Bob for all of his knowledge and faithful service to CODI.

We wish him well in all of his new endeavors.

A little About Bob

He is married to Cathy and has two adult daughters; one is an attorney living in NYC and the other coordinates programming for a television station in Denver, CO. He and Cathy also care for his his stepson and two nephews.

Bob received his BA in Psychology from St Bonaventure University and his MSEd in Rehabilitation Counseling from Hofstra University. He is a Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor.

Public Office:

Bob was elected to two terms with the Monroe Township Board of Education and two terms with the Monroe Township Council.  He has served on the Monroe Twp Planning and Zoning Boards

He was appointed to two terms the Gloucester County Special Services Board of Elections.

Work Experience:

Prior to coming to CODI, he worked as a Counselor in two in-patient settings one with adolescents.  He started here in 1976 as a Counselor in what is now the CODI Outsource Center.

He started the Project for Independent Living with a budget of $62,000.  He leased partments for consumers. He oversaw the purchase and developement of six group homes and seven permanent SH units

His program has served over 1,100 consumers

Flash ahead 40 year, the programs he started leave CODI with a residential budget over four million dollars.

Bob's Community Service included two years as President of the NJ Association of Mental Health & Addictions Agencies,
