CODI was proud to participate in ACCSES New Jersey's Day at the State House in Trenton on October 28th. This advocacy event focused on meeting with legislatures to discuss the authorizing legislation for Extended Employment and strengthening purchasing requirements for the Set-Aside Program.

This was a great opportunity for CODI to join ACCSES NJ members to connect with legislators and advocate for policy changes that directly impact those we serve. Special thanks to Senator Vincent J. Polistina, who met with CODI consumers to discuss their concerns.

Special thanks to Congressman Jeff Van Drew and staff for taking time from their hectic schedules to visit CODI. The group toured our facility and spent time listening to consumer and staff concerns regarding employment opportunities for differently abled individuals. The top concern discussed was proposed federal legislation to abolish 14(C) certificates and sub-minimum wages, which was introduced in the Transformation to Competitive Employment Act.

Thanks to Jacob Caplan, Director of Advocacy and Government Affairs, from ACCSESNJ, for arranging this important meeting and discussion. We appreciate the opportunity to discuss the significance of our work and its impact on the lives of those we serve throughout our community.

CODI proudly announces that the 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey Air National Guard has again awarded CODI the Commander’s Coin. Honoring someone with a commander’s coin is a way for senior leadership to show appreciation for a phenomenal job on the spot. It is more than just a thank you or a pat on the back. It is something tangible to remember the moment by.

Colonel Derek Routt presented the Commander’s Coin to Pam Garman, Site Supervisor, and her team and commended CODI for its commitment to fostering opportunity and empowerment for differently-abled individuals.

For decades, CODI has demonstrated a tireless commitment to helping individuals achieve their career and personal development goals, and this award acknowledges CODI’s outstanding service at the base. Founded in 1970, CODI has been a beacon of hope and support for differently abled individuals seeking to overcome barriers to employment and independence. Through innovative programs and community partnerships like the 177th, CODI has created pathways for success, offering training and resources that empower individuals to thrive.

“We are deeply honored to receive the Commander’s Coin from the 177th Fighter Wing,” said CODI’s President/CEO, Linda Carney. “This recognition affirms our mission to serve our community and to stand alongside those who have served our country. We remain committed to continuing our work to create meaningful opportunities for all and extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for this award.
